| The Small Business Development Center,
administered by the State University of New York, provides management and technical
assistance to start-up and existing small business firms in New York State. Locally,
Ulster County Community College sponsors the Mid-Hudson Region Small Business Development
Center. It is one of 23 campus-located regional centers statewide. The Mid-Hudson SBDC
serves small businesses in Dutchess, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan Counties. The SBDC specializes in providing direct one-on-one professional,
confidential counseling at no cost to business owners and entrepreneurs. The counseling
services include business plan development, financial planning and analysis, management
and organizational structure, loan information assistance, import and export assistance,
marketing planning and analysis, accounting techniques, training programs, and more.
The SBDC acts to assist entrepreneurs and small business
owners to resolve problems, increase productivity and expand to ultimately improve
profitability.
