Job Search Assistance:

The Kingston Employment Center offers access to local, statewide and national job listings both at our location and selected locations throughout the Ulster County Workforce Development System. You may receive assistance with referrals to job openings for which you qualify.

Additionally, we offer seminars to assist you in your search for employment. Seminars include resume writing, job search overview, interviewing skills and career exploration. Contact our office to register for one of our seminars.

The Ulster County One-Stop Center, a collaboration of Workforce Investment Partners, maintains a resource room to assist job seekers in their search for work. Services available include: job referral, personal computers with software packages for writing resumes and cover letters, faxing capability for resumes to employers, job ads from local and regional newspapers, a variety of publications relating to job search issues, telephones to make job interview appointments and follow up calls and Internet access to job openings on the world wide web.

Computer Job Matching:

A computer matching system that connects employer placed job orders to our job seeker database is available.  The employer's job specifications are electronically matched to the job seekers skills, abilities and experience. Job seekers who appear to match employers requirements are notified of the availability of the opening and offered referral. You must register in order to be available for computer job matching services! This service is prepaid by your tax dollars and the employer makes all hiring decisions. Job openings in Ulster, Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan, Rockland and Westchester Counties are accessible through this system.

Rural Employment:

We can aid you in your job search, whether you are looking for a horticultural job, an agriculture-related position, or something in a completely different discipline. We have access to the vast resources of the State and Federal job search network and we can show you how to obtain the maximum benefit from them. As agricultural employment specialists, we offer a placement service for farm managers, tractor and other equipment operators, farm workers, and harvest workers, as well as various other agricultural occupations.
